Factors That Affect Biomass Fuel Boiler Efficiency
As one kind of environmental protection industrial equipment widely used in industry and our life, the biomass fuel boiler is more and more popular because of its low cost and clean. But for every industry, the most important problem is how to control cost and make more profit. So the combustion efficiency of industrial boiler is the main problem that should be care about. The factors that affect efficiency of boiler are as follow
Slagging in boiler
Slagging will be occur on both the heating surface, water wall, and other parts. The heating surface slagging will increase the heat transfer resistance and the exhaust temperature, which weakens the heat transfer and reduces the efficiency of boiler. The water wall slagging of biomass fired boiler will bring the uneven heating, affecting the natural circulation safety of water cycle and thermal deviation control of flowing water wall, which may cause the damage of water wall.
Water and dust content of fuel
Water content of biomass fuel is differ from each other. If the water content is more, the fuel will cost more time for being burnt. For biomass fired cfb boiler, with high speed circulating speed in furnace, the resident time of fuel is short, which will lead to low combustion efficiency and large cost. For biomass fuel traveling grate boiler, the boiler will be damaged by the higher temperature of upper side of furnace. Besides, the more smoke with high temperature will lead to a waste of heat energy. For biomass fuel cfb boiler, the general content of dust in biomass fuel is 3%~10%. When the dust content of fuel is higher, we should discharge some bottom slag to keep a suitable bed height. But when burning fuels with lower dust content such as timber or wood pellet, we should add some bed material to ensure the temperature of furnace and combustion efficiency.
Other factors
Appropriate amount of air, providing higher combustion temperature, keeping sufficient combustion time and furnace temperature, and qualified pulverized coal fineness, well mixed combustion and air are the key methods to improve combustion efficiency and reduce heat loss.
Biomass fuel boiler types
The main biomass fuel boiler types are traveling grate type boiler and cfb type biomass boiler, which is differ from combustion style. We should choose the suitable boiler according to the actual demand, needed temperature, pressure, capacity and other factors to save cost, decrease waste and get more profit.
