How To Choose Industrial Boilers
Boilers are the necessary equipment in industries. When we start to design a new industrial facility, one of the first things we should think about is the type of boiler we will use. There are multiple ways classifying industrial boilers, which can sometimes cause confusion. We can classify types of industrial boilers according to function, design, combustion technology, and heat source.
Classified according to function
Boilers can be classified into steam boiler and hot water heating boiler. Industrial boilers will always be used for steam production, which is a vital resource for different industrial applications such as chemical industry, textile mill, food factory, beverage industry, and others. Hot water boilers are widely used to provide hot water for washing, heating in cold day and some other cases.
Classified according to tube type
Boilers classified according to tube type come in two variations: fire tube boilers and water tube boilers. Water tube boilers are that in which water circulates in tubes. Fuel is burned inside the furnace, creating hot gas which heats water in the steam-generating tubes. Fire tube boilers take hot gases from their heating source and pass them through tubes that run through a water-filled drum. This transfers heat from the gases to the water to generate steam.
Classified according to fuel type
Industrial boilers can be classified according to the fuel they burn. Most industrial boilers burn pulverized coal, which fires more efficiently than coal clumps. Biomass fuel boiler can burn biomass fuel such as wood chips, sugar cane husks, and even wooden construction debris to save cost. Gas fired boilers burn natural gas and oil fired boiler can burn gasoline, diesel, or other petroleum-based fluids. Waste heat recovery boiler can collect waste heat that generated in production process and heat water to supply steam or hot water.
Classified according to combustion technology
Industrial boilers can also be classified according to the combustion technology. The advanced cfb(circulating fluidized bed) technology is popular in large scale boiler. The fuel such as biomass or coal in the boiler can resist in furnace for a long time to be burnt fully, which is high efficient. Chain grate type boiler is refers to the fuel burning on a chain grate. With this combustion technology, the fuel can bu burnt fully by adjusting the speed of chain grate to a suitable value. WNS type boiler is mainly gas and oil fuel boiler, which is in packaged style
These are the brief description of industrial boiler types. The difference of them in application is also a factor we should think about when choosing them. Only when we purchase a suitable boiler can we save more cost and make more profit for industry.
