Safety Precautions On Industrial Boilers Ignition
All the inspection and preparation works should be done before ignition is made for industrial boilers such as gas fired boiler, oil fuel boilers and coal boilers. The time for ignition is according to boiler types, combustion style, water circulating style boiler structures and other conditions. Ignition method is related to combustion style and burning equipment. The inspection and preparation works can directly affect safe operation of boilers, so some aspects during ignition process should not to be neglected.
Furnace explosion prevention
Flammable gases or other combustible materials may exist in the furnace and flue, which is likely to explode when meet fire after mixed with air if they are not be cleared. Oil fuel boilers, gas fired boilers, coal boilers must be paid special attention to prevent the furnace from explosion. Before ignition, ventilation for furnace and flue with 5min ~ 10min should be carried with fans. When starting oil gas boilers, we should turn on the fans, and then start ignition device, at last put into fuels. If the ignition is not successful, the supply of fuel to the furnace must be stopped immediately, and then re-ignition after adequate ventilation. Using the waste heat of furnace for secondary ignition is prohibited.
Heating process control
With the increases of temperature, we need to pay attention to thermal expansion and thermal stress problems in drum and the heating surface. In order to ensure that all part of the boiler is heated evenly and prevent excessive thermal stress, boost process must be carried out slowly. While the expansion of the heated pressurized parts should be supervised and measures should be taken to eliminate any uneven expansion. When the pressure up to 0.2MPa, the manhole, hand hole and bolt flange should be tightened.
Meters monitor and adjustment
The steam parameters, working conditions and the parts of the water level of the boiler is changing at any time. In order to prevent abnormal situations and accidents, various directions instrumentation must be closely monitored to control boiler pressure, temperature, water level within a reasonable range. At the same time, various indicators of the instrument will turn from cold to hot and never confined to under pressure. Thus ensure the accuracy and reliability of indicating instrument is very important during ignition process.
